Trusted Information Sharing Network for Critical Infrastructure Protection (TISN)
The private sector owns or operates much of Australia’s critical infrastructure and are therefore key players in its protection. To facilitate the sharing of relevant security and threat information between corporations and between the government and the private sector, the Commonwealth Government created the Trusted Information Sharing Network for Critical Infrastructure Protection (TISN).
The TISN provides a forum in which owners and operators work together by sharing information on security issues which affect critical infrastructure. The TISN is made up of a number of Infrastructure Assurance Advisory Groups (IAAGs) for different business sectors, and overseen by the Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council (CIAC). The Office of State Security and Emergency Coordination supports a representative on the CIAC.
Participation in the TISN is encouraged however, regular forums will be conducted in Western Australia to facilitate the exchange of information and provide owners and operators with the opportunity to discuss issues of common interest. These forums will be linked to the TISN arrangements and will generally be based on industry groups in order to maximise the benefits from the exchange of information and ideas between owners and operators.
